It is assumed by many who have tried to transition into eating an exclusive Raw plant based diet that the a diet that includes only fruits and vegetables are all that is needed. I do not share this opinion and would not want to keep out so many nutrient dense foods that they call superfoods and some of the medicinal properties that come with certain herbs out of my eating lifestyle. The base of what you eat should be fresh fruits and vegetables however, these are what complete the remaining nutrient requirements that your body needs for building and overall wellness. There are many factors when transitioning and eating a raw plant based diet to consider and it would be more advantageous to include some of these types of foods in my opinion to cover all bases. It is about eating the most complete alternative to a heavy refined and meat based diet.
