Although my dumbbell forearm workouts differ, a common factor of each is a the ‘curling’ motion where the dumbbell weight is curled using the wrist with the focus of primarily using the strength of the forearm muscles. The variation of forearm exercises using dumbbells are all contracted to curling the weight inwards bending the writs and using the weights, to a point where you feel the pump and burning at its peak in your forearm muscles. It is important to always breathe in a rhythm and consistency even when doing forearms. Your whole overall body should work with some type of rhythm that includes breathing for every muscle including forearms. When you train your body always practice correct form and good control. Each repetition to any forearm workout should be done inhaling on the way down and exhaling when you force on the way up when curling. This contraction and extension together constitute a single repetition of any forearm workout.
